I was a little disappointed, but that is just the reality of growing up and becoming an adult—especially having a job in the airline industry as the company operates 24/7 to bring people everywhere and anywhere. Before getting the job, especially being based far from home, I knew the sacrifices I would have to make. I was incredibly grateful that I was at least able to spend Thanksgiving with family at home.

Thankfully, around the holiday season, the company allows Flight Attendant Reserves to submit a Reserve Christmas Wishlist Preference. You can list up to four cities you would like to layover at or near from the 22nd to the 27th of December. Being from SoCal, I preferenced San Diego and Ontario as my only two options so I could have a chance to be home for the holidays. I thought about putting in Hawaii or Amsterdam, but I decided regardless of how cool the location is, I would rather be home with family.

I received a 4-day pairing that granted my wishlist starting on December 23rd:

Tuesday, December 23rd: Houston to Calgary with a 15.5 hour layover

Wednesday, December 24th: Calgary to Denver, Denver to Ontario with a 16.5 hour layover

Thursday, December 25th: Ontario to Houston, Houston to Edmonton with a 12 hour layover

Friday, December 26th: Edmonton to Houston, Houston to Austin, Austin to Houston.

It would be a pretty easy schedule. Even though it was not going to be a really long layover, I was still excited to at least spend some time with family for a bit. If planned carefully and everything went to plan, the flight to Ontario would land just in time for me to make it to church for the Christmas Eve service. Every Christmas Eve, my family and I go to the Christmas Eve candlelight service, then we head to dinner at Texas Roadhouse.

On the morning of the 23rd, I got ready and headed off to the airport. The first day of my trip is just 1 leg. Pretty simple, but definitely a longer flight. Overall, the flight went well, but we definitely worked incredibly hard during the service. The majority of the passengers wanted several drinks, snacks, etc. Once we barely finished with the service, they were already wanting refills. We took an Airbus A319, but the seats did not have seatback entertainment for the passengers to watch movies, TV shows, etc. Additionally, the outlets begin to cut in and out because several passengers are using them to charge their tablets and the wifi ends up very spotty as a lot of passengers are trying to stream movies and TV shows from their personal devices. Most of the Airbuses in our fleet do not have screens.

Once we landed and went through Customs, we headed over to the hotel. I already knew what I was going to do for my layover: hit up Lululemon (if you know, you know). I already had a few requests from my family on what they wanted me to buy them and bring them back on my layover. I quickly took an Uber to a nearby mall and began my shopping spree. I also needed to make sure that I would be back in time to sleep as I had an early check-in time for the flight in the morning. I was so about the possibility of getting to spend some time with family. They say not to make any plans for your layover as things change, so I texted my mom letting her know of the tentative plan I had in case my flight landed on time.

The next morning, I woke up early and got ready. My report time was 5:30AM. My crew and I made our way to the airport and through TSA. I was prepared to get stopped at TSA because I got stopped the last time I went to Calgary over some cans of soup. They claimed that it needed to be condensed. This time, they did not stop me for my Chef Boyardee. They stopped me because of my Nintendo Switch and a small pair of scissors that I keep in my bag. Ever since I went to London, I always keep a small pair of scissors in a small pencil pouch that I designate as my “International Pouch” because sometimes you may need it to cut open a bag of ice, cut a seal on a cart, etc.

Once they did their extra screening and swabbed my Nintendo Switch and scissors, we made our way to clear US Customs. In Canada, you clear US Customs prior to boarding your flight through a system called US Preclearance. It is very convenient because it allows you to arrive in the US as if you were on a domestic flight, saving so much time and enhancing security by stopping potential issues earlier. This system also uses US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at foreign airports. It is honestly one of the nicest parts of flying back from Canada and select countries that opt into the program. It saves a ton of time, helps keep things running smoothly on the US side, and allows airlines to fly into smaller airports that do not have Customs facilities. As crew, it definitely makes the arrival feel much easier and less hectic, especially if the flight lands around the same time as Emirates, which will take a million years to get through US Customs with their double-decker A380s.

The crew and I eventually made our way to our gate. We scanned our badges then headed down to the plane. We would be taking this Boeing 737–800 to Denver, then later to Ontario. The only thing on my mind was making sure that we arrived in Ontario early so I could be with my family. It was absolutely freezing. The plane was sitting out overnight, so the cabin was way too cold. Once we got everything situated, it was time to start boarding. While on the ground, I did as much as I could to prepare the galley for service.

Once boarding was complete, we were now ready to leave and head to Denver. It was snowing, so the plane needed to be de-iced. We pushed back and waited for the de-icing. After that was complete, we taxied to the runway and sat there for a bit. Something felt off. Then, like clockwork, the Captain got on the PA system and made an announcement: there was a maintenance issue with the plane. An engine control light came on, but he reassured us that it would be a quick fix. I was starting to get a little nervous because I was not sure if we would potentially misconnect or get reassigned.

We taxied back to the gate, and Canadian maintenance came on board. Passengers start to come to the aft galley and request water. A lot of them are also worried about whether or not they will make their connections as they have plans for Christmas. I did my best to reassure passengers of their worries and offer them waters for the time being. Finally, after some time, the Captain came back on the PA system and announced that the issue was much greater than they originally anticipated. Our trip fell apart, and we were no longer going to lay over in Ontario. The pairing was modified, so we were now scheduled to fly to Houston later in the afternoon and layover there instead. My heart sank, and I felt a little upset, but I understood just how quickly everything can change, especially with this job. This was why everyone says to never make plans for your layover.

We made our way back through Canadian Customs, and the company got us a hotel because the sit time was scheduled for longer than 4 hours. We would be able to get some rest so we could work the next flight, which was definitely a little bit of an added bonus as I had been up since 4AM. I then quickly texted my mom to let her know that the plans changed.

After getting some much-needed rest, I grabbed my things and headed down to the lobby to meet the crew. We met our pilots as well and made our way to the airport. Round 2, so hopefully everything would go smoothly this time. We made our way through TSA, and I got stopped again. This time, it was for my toothpaste. Everyone in the crew got stopped for something. After we got through TSA, we completed the US Preclearance again, then we walked to our gate and went down to the aircraft.

The flight back to Houston was similar to the flight we had coming to Calgary. We also had a few passengers who were rebooked from the Denver flight onto our flight to Houston. Although I was a little disappointed still about my Christmas Eve plans falling through, I tried my best to not let it get to me. At least I would be going home and sleeping in my own bed tonight, so that was definitely a plus. When I got back to Houston, I unpacked everything I got in Calgary from my layover and got ready for the next half of my trip.

When the morning came, I got ready and headed off to the airport. This little break in between was definitely nice for a quick reset and helped make the pairing not seem as long. As soon as I got to the airport, I met the rest of my crew and our two pilots. We were ready for our flight to Edmonton.

It would be a slightly longer flight than Calgary. Thankfully, this Airbus A320 had screens on it. It helps limit the amount of people who are using their personal electronic devices using the wifi to stream entertainment. I then set up my galley and prepared for the service. The flight went very well.

Upon arriving in Edmonton, we had a layover that was on the shorter side. There was not much to do, especially since it was incredibly cold and snowing. We arrived in the evening, so the time was very limited. I decided that with only 12 hours, it was best to sleep as much as I could because the next day would be very long.

I met my crew in the hotel lobby in the morning. We then made our way to the airport and cleared TSA and US Preclearance. This time, I was not stopped for anything, so I feel like Calgary must be a little stricter in regards to TSA. We then found our way to the gate and scanned onto the aircraft. We were then on our way to Houston.

It was really nice that we got to keep the same plane that we brought into Edmonton because it had screens for the passengers. The flight was great, and we had no issues. Everybody was happy and ready to get home from their holiday travels.

We had a 3 hour sit in Houston before completing our trip with a quick turn to Austin. Additionally, I was excited because Thomas would be coming to spend a few days with me so we could celebrate Christmas together. Thomas was going to be flying from SFO, and, if all goes to plan, landing in Houston around the time my pairing finished.

During the 3 hour sit, my crew and I hung out in the crew room and ate dinner. I packed some cans of soup and used my mini crockpot to heat it up while my crew members bought Popeyes from the airport. The downside to having longer sits is that you do lose the momentum and end up getting more tired. I then attempted to rest a bit to get as much energy as I could to finish off the pairing.

Once we were ready to start our Austin turn, we headed over to the gate and scanned onto the aircraft. We headed down the jetbridge and began boarding. After we boarded everyone, we were ready for our quick flight to Austin. It would be about 37 minutes in air.

Once we landed, we sat on the runway for quite some time. We were unable to get to the gate as another plane for a different carrier was sitting at our gate. We would have to wait for them to finish boarding, push back, and taxi out so we could park at our gate. We were told by the Flight Deck it would be a few minutes, but a few minutes eventually turned into almost 45 minutes past our scheduled arrival time.

Finally, once the plane pushed back, we were able to park at the gate and deplane. As soon as everyone deplaned, we quickly boarded everyone for Houston and were on our way. The flight would be a lot easier and smoother, and we were not too delayed coming back. Thankfully, we did not sit too long on the taxiway and had a very quick taxi back to Houston. We then began to deplane.

When the last passenger stepped off the aircraft, we officially completed our Christmas pairing. A huge sigh of relief.

It definitely was not the Christmas I imagined. I did not make it to candlelight service. I did not have dinner at Texas Roadhouse with my family. The carefully thought-out plan I built in my head unraveled in a matter of minutes because of a maintenance light and falling snow.

But that is the job.

Aviation does not pause for holidays. It does not guarantee plans. It demands flexibility, resilience, and a willingness to let go of expectations. And maybe that is part of growing up, too.

This was the first Christmas I did not spend fully at home in 21 years. But somewhere between de-icing delays, TSA stops, and long sits in the crew room, I was reminded why I chose this career in the first place: we helped people get home for Christmas, reassured nervous passengers, and adapted when things fell apart.

Christmas looked different this year—but different does not mean less meaningful.

I may not have had the holiday I envisioned, but I still found moments worth celebrating. And sometimes, that is more than enough.

Thanks for reading Anna's Adventures! It has not necessarily been unbearable, but it is definitely a lot hotter than what I am used to. I went to bed really early because I was tired from having a 4AM Airport Standby shift the day before with a 2-day pairing in the Houston heat prior.

I woke up to a call from Crew Scheduling on Monday, May 19th at 4:03AM. They informed me that I had a quick and easy 2-day pairing: Houston to Boston with a layover just under 14 hours in Boston, then Boston back to Houston. My report time would be 8:48AM. After attempting to get about an extra hour of sleep, I got ready then headed to the airport.

After getting to the employee parking lot, I got onto the employee shuttle and sat next to a 777 Captain. We had a great little conversation. He was going to fly a Boeing 777 to Honolulu, and I said I was going to Boston. He also told me he was a retired Navy veteran as well. After, we went our separate ways and I headed towards my gate.

I was a little early for my pairing, so I sat down at some tables nearby. I then met an Airbus First Officer who would be flying my plane to Boston. We talked a little bit about how I learned Spanish in college and a little bit about languages in general. We also conversed about how immersion is the best way to learn a language, where he told me he eventually picked up Spanish because his family lives in Mexico. He also told me he wanted to try and go to a Red Sox game.

During check-in, I met the Captain for my flight. He asked me if I was sitting next to a 777 Captain this morning on the employee shuttle because he has a really good friend from the Navy that told him that he met one of the Flight Attendants that would be on his flight. Small world, right? We then scanned our badges and headed down the jetbridge.

I was working as the extra on the Airbus A319. My position was technically to help out with the economy service, but the Purser wanted me to help her out with the First Class service instead. The flight went smoothly. I also noticed that the Purser was Spanish-qualified, so I asked her during some of our downtime about what it was like being Spanish-qualified as I am interested in maybe earning that language qualification. Once we landed, I made my way to the hotel to begin my layover.

I quickly planned what I was going to do during my layover. It was on the shorter side, so I decided to Uber to Harvard. My Uber driver asked me what I was planning on doing at Harvard, and I told him that I have never been before and just wanted to check it out. He told me that his daughter went to Harvard, so he gave me a few recommendations on what to check out.

After walking around the campus, I decided to check out Harvard Square afterwards. I then saw Harvard Bookstore, which is an independent bookstore not affiliated with the University that sells diverse collections of works. I knew instantly that I had to check it out, so I browsed around and took a look at all the local publications and unique recommendations from the staff.

The weather was pretty chilly, which was a nice escape from the Houston Heat. I felt like the gloomy vibe of Harvard and the city of Cambridge kind of reminded me of an East Coast version of Berkeley. After I was done exploring, I Ubered back to the hotel and got ready for bed. I had an early check in the next day, so I needed to make sure that I was well-rested for my flight.

The next morning came quickly. I made my way to the airport before sunrise. At least the early report time meant I would be home sooner. I met my crew, scanned in, and walked down the jet bridge. For the return flight, I served as Purser. The flight back to Houston was smooth, and before I knew it, I was back home with way warmer climate. I enjoyed my little quick escape to the East Coast, especially having cooler weather.

Thanks for reading Anna's Adventures! I wanted to get a good routine established, so I had an alarm set to wake me up at 8AM everyday. I also had an Airport Standby shift at 4PM on Saturday, May 10th, 2025. Absolutely no idea why I thought having a good routine would be a great idea.

I got ready for my standby shift and headed to the airport. I checked in and got settled in the crew room. At around 4:05PM, I saw that I had chat notifications for a flight on my work phone regarding missing flight attendants. I panicked and quickly checked my schedule. Did I read the schedule wrong? Was I supposed to be doing a standby shift or did I actually have a flight? I quickly packed up my stuff and ran out of the crew room to my gate.

I was terrified that I would receive a late report. As a probationary flight attendant, this is not something you want to have on your record. When I was running to the gate, I got a call from Crew Scheduling, and they informed me that I had a pairing from standby. I felt an immense wave of relief knowing that I did not have a late report and that they just placed it on my line as soon as I checked in for my shift.

The trip was what they call a “fake” 3-day because it is really only 2 days of flying sandwiched between a long layover. I was assigned as the Purser (Lead). We would do Houston to San Francisco, then a red-eye from San Francisco to Raleigh/Durham. We had a 24 hour layover in Raleigh/Durham, then we would go from Raleigh/Durham back to Houston. I felt like maybe the red-eye life would be good for me as I consider myself as a night person. I stay up late and wake up late. I find it hard for me to wake up early in the mornings, so perhaps it would be easier for me to work red-eye flights.

When I got to the gate, I scanned my badge then boarded the aircraft. I met the crew, and we all got to know each other a bit. Boarding began, then we were on our way to San Francisco.

It was a very easy flight to San Francisco. I had about a two hour sit in SFO, so Thomas met me outside by the baggage claim area. Soon, it was time for me to get back to the gate so we could get to Raleigh. I went through TSA, walked to my gate, scanned my badge, and made my way down the jetbridge. Once we were on the aircraft, I met a girl who would be working in the aft on the beverage cart. This was her first ever trip, so we were all excited for her. I knew exactly how she felt a little under a month ago.

The flight, for the most part, was pretty manageable. It was about half-full. I felt great for the first part of the service and confident in my red-eye ability; however, my challenge was actually after service was complete. Because it was a red-eye, the majority of the passengers were asleep. The cabin is incredibly dark for passengers to rest, so now I was starting to feel incredibly tired. Could it possibly because I had been up since 8AM? In the meantime, I would try and stay awake by talking to the girl who was working as the forward galley. I occasionally would walk to the back of the plane and talk to the crew in the aft to try whenever I felt drowsy. Eventually, my eyes began to start burning.

Once we finally landed, we made our way to the pickup area to head on over to our hotel. I was exhausted, especially after being up for nearly 20 hours at this time. Note to self: do not wake up at 8AM and try to establish a good daily routine in case you get called to do a red-eye. We eventually made our way to our hotel, and in the van, I got to watch the sunrise. At the hotel, I quickly unpacked and slept. I also took a look in the mirror and saw that my eyes were incredibly red. And that’s why they call it a red-eye!

I woke up around 1PM. It was raining just a bit. I was not sure what to do since it was a pretty long layover. I googled things to do in Raleigh and saw that the North Carolina History Museum was not too far from the hotel. I put on my jacket and quickly made my way to there.

On the walk to the museum, I checked out various Civil War monuments and trails around the Capitol building. It made me really wish that I got a history minor in college. Eventually, I made my way to the History Museum and found out that it was temporarily closed for renovations. It would not re-open until Fall 2028. Instead, I wandered over to the Natural Science Museum and walked around there to get some steps in and kill some time. After I looked through everything, I made my way back to the hotel. I tried to go to bed as early as I could since we had a pretty early flight the next morning back to Houston.

We made our way to the airport. It was so early, but I was glad I would be done early so I could go back home and recover from the red-eye schedule. I also noticed that the plane looked incredibly new. I took a look at the registration, and I saw that the plane’s certificate from Department of Transportation Date was issued on April 17th, 2025! This was the date of my base orientation! Essentially, the plane has been flying for as long as I have!

The flight back to Houston went well, and a sweet passenger even brought us a bag full of snacks. We indulged in some of the snacks on the flight. Upon finally landing, we all went our separate ways. On the drive home, I decided that I do not like red-eyes and maybe I actually prefer to do early check-ins.

Thanks for reading Anna's Adventures! because I had early Airport Standby shifts on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, April 27th at 12:11AM, I woke up to a call from Crew Scheduling informing me that I had a pairing placed on my line. I would be doing what they call a “turn” to San Salvador, El Salvador. It is also my first “international” trip. I say “international” because the company considers it as a domestic trip because it is in Central America. My report time was 9:05AM. I then tried my best to go back to sleep so I could get adequate rest for my pairing.

I woke up and got ready for the day. Part of me was a little apprehensive to work this trip because there were no Spanish-speakers on this flight. I was glad that I knew Spanish, but now I would be putting my very limited speaking skills to the test in order to potentially help out my crew if they needed it. Could I even do a service in Spanish? I can read it, write it, and understand it, but the thought of having to speak it just makes me incredibly anxious. Although I am not technically Spanish-qualified, I wanted to see how well I could do—especially because I plan on possibly becoming a Spanish-qualified Flight Attendant in the future. The first step would be to try to force myself to speak it.

I got to the gate and was the first one of my crew there. No problem. I am pretty early because, again, I am a probationary Flight Attendant. Once I was able to, I scanned my badge, headed down the jet bridge, and boarded the aircraft. I knew that I was probably going to be the Flight Attendant on the beverage cart. Eventually, I found out that the rest of the crew was a little delayed with the flight that they were currently working on coming into Houston. As a result, three Flight Attendants who were doing an Airport Standby were sent to my flight to cover for them to ensure we had an on-time departure. Once the original crew arrived, the standbys left, and we were able to depart and began our turn to El Salvador.

As soon as we were able to get up, we prepared the carts and began the service. We pushed the beverage cart to the front of the economy cabin, and I asked the first row of passengers what they would like to drink. As I began to pull the drawer of ice out and scoop the ice into the cup, I accidentally pulled the drawer out too far. All five pounds of ice spilled all over the floor, and I stared at it in disbelief. Oops! I quickly cleaned it up and disposed of the ice in the lavatory sink. Unfortunately, I was no longer able to serve anymore drinks with ice. I also attempted to complete the service in Spanish when necessary.

When we landed in San Salvador, we sat inside aircraft for about 20 minutes. Because it was a turn, we were not getting off the aircraft, clearing customs, etc. Additionally, we would be taking the same plane back to Houston. I was able to look outside the window and get a small glimpse of the area.

Soon, the passengers started to board the flight. I was in the aisle doing my best to assist with boarding—in Spanish too. I would try to help them find their seats. After boarding was complete, we were on our way back to Houston.

The service went very smooth this time around. Thankfully, I did not spill another ice drawer. We landed and then cleared U.S. customs. I successfully completed my first turn. Because I had to clear customs, I considered it as a country I have visited. Even though I never got off the aircraft, it technically counts as a place I have gone, right?

Thanks for reading Anna's Adventures! Saturday, April 19th, 2025. I am now a Probationary Flight Attendant on reserve. During the first 6 months of your career, you are a Probationary Flight Attendant. The day before, I preferenced that I wanted to do an afternoon Airport Standby shift. I heard that Airport Standby is typically how you can get the best trips as a reserve. If a Flight Attendant is unable to work a trip at the last minute or based on operational needs, I could get called by Crew Scheduling to work that trip. I received the 6PM–10PM standby shift. This is typically when most of the international trips depart, so the chances of me getting assigned an international trip would be greater.

I waited in the crew room and never received a call from Crew Scheduling. I assumed that there was something wrong with my cell service, so I called them and asked them if there was anything that I was assigned to but did not receive any notifications. They informed me that there were no trips to give me at the moment, and they would call me if they needed to use me. Eventually, 10PM came and I went home without any calls from Crew Scheduling. I was so sad because all of my classmates were going on their first trips—some classmates were working with each other while some were working international trips.

Sunday, Sunday, April 20th, 2025. I checked my schedule and saw that I had a pairing on my line:

3-day trip to Boston with a report time of 1:55PM

Day 1: Houston to Boston

Day 2: Boston to Chicago, Chicago to Dulles, Dulles to Boston

Day 3: Boston to Houston.

Purser (Lead) position

I was so excited and got ready. So many different emotions began to hit me all at once.

As a probationary flight attendant, you need to make sure that you are putting your best foot forward. You are evaluated on a different system than a tenured Flight Attendant. Essentially, while on probation, you can receive up to 4 points before termination. The number one cause of Flight Attendants not making it past their probationary period is Missed Trips and Late Reports.

I was genuinely terrified of being late, so I showed up to the airport 4 hours early. I know, I know. It was incredibly early and overly extreme. In my defense, I had no idea how long it would take for me to drive to the airport, find parking, and get through TSA. I was also scared because I heard that Houston traffic can be insane, so I had no idea if traffic would be an issue for me. Better safe than sorry, right? I then relaxed in the crew room until it was time for me to be at the gate.

Once I got to the gate, I met my crew. Three of them were Boston-based and two of us were Houston-based. I told them that I was brand new, and that this was my first ever trip. They were excited for me. Additionally, I was so nervous because this was the real deal. After 7 weeks of training, my skills are now being put to the test. Was I going to remember everything that they taught me in training? Am I even cut out for this job? Am I going to do well?

For this segment of the trip, the Boston crew was finishing up their trip. I was added as the extra for this flight, so I would be in the economy cabin. My work position was on the top of the beverage cart. I did my best to serve drinks, but my timing was an issue for me because I was new and really slow. The other Houston-based Flight Attendant was on the bottom of the beverage cart. He had 25 years of service. He was so quick with the beverage service. After finishing the service, he gave me some tips on how to make the service move faster and smoother. He also shared some stories of his past flights along with other advice to help prepare me for the future in my career.

When we landed, the other Houston-based Flight Attendant was staying at the same hotel as me. I followed him to the Hotel shuttle since I had no idea what I was even doing. When we got to the hotel, he helped me figure out a good van time to go to the airport since arriving 4 hours early is extreme. Additionally, the Boston Marathon was scheduled for the next morning, so I wanted to make sure that I would not get caught up in any of that potential traffic.

Monday, April I wished that I was able to spend more time in Boston because I wanted to explore a bit of the city. It was also incredibly special being able to have my first ever trip to Massachusetts because my grandma grew up in New Bedford.

I arrived at the airport then found my way to the gate. I then met one of the Flight Attendants I would be working with on this pairing. She was Boston-based. She told me that this trip is what they call a “triangle” because it is a 1 day trip where you start in city A and go to 2 other cities then end back in city A. She mentioned that she picked this trip up on her off days. She also said that she only wants to work turns because she did her fair share of internationals, layovers, etc. and wants to be home every night. Turns are where you work a flight to a city then turn right back around the same day and do not lay over.

Soon, the rest of the crew arrived and we were ready to begin day 2. One was Denver-based while 2 were Chicago-based. We boarded the aircraft and got everything ready for passengers to board. Now, I was going to be the Purser for the rest of the pairing. I took a deep breath, then put my best foot forward. My crew and I decided to sit by the gate to wait for the aircraft. During our sit, I walked around the airport for a bit to see if I could find any special souvenirs to remember my first trip. I walked into a Hudson store and saw a variety of keychains. I then bought a keychain then headed back to the gate to rest my eyes for a bit. Then, we got the dreaded notification that our flight to Dulles was delayed.

Every 30 min, we kept getting a notification informing us that our flight to Dulles is delayed by another 30 minutes. Eventually, our 3 hour sit turned into an almost 6 hour sit. When the aircraft finally arrived at the gate, we quickly boarded and got everything ready for the few remaining passengers that stayed with the delays. Additionally, the trip fell apart due to the delay in Chicago, so now we will lay over in Dulles and go to Boston tomorrow.

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2025
<div 3. We are scheduled to fly from Dulles to Boston, then Boston to Houston. We get to the airport and meet the rest of the crew. They are all Dulles-based Flight Attendants. We made our way onto the aircraft then began the flight to Boston.

It was a very smooth and easy flight. The crew in the aft of the aircraft also gave me some advice that I might need for the future. After we arrived in Boston, we had a 2 hour sit. During the sit, I ate some ramen for a quick snack. Once the plane arrived at the gate, I was ready to finish up my very first trip and go home.

This final flight went very smooth as well. The crew wanted me to help with the First Class service in the front so I could get a feel for all the various positions throughout this pairing. When the service was wrapped up, I noticed that the sun was also starting to set. Seeing the sunset from 35,000ft was such a different experience than it is on the ground. It was such a beautiful and fitting way to end the trip as well.

Thanks for reading Anna's Adventures!
